Abu Hassira, a journalist working for the Wafa news agency under the Palestinian Authority, met a tragic end on November 7, 2023. The airstrike on his residence in Gaza not only took his life but also claimed the lives of 42 of his relatives, resulting in 43 casualties in total [1]. This devastating event unfolded during the Israel-Gaza war, a conflict that has witnessed a distressing number of journalist deaths. In fact, it stands as the deadliest month for journalists since 1992. As of November 7, at least 39 journalists and media workers, with 34 Palestinians, 4 Israelis, and 1 Lebanese, have lost their lives [1]. The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) is actively investigating these journalist deaths, along with cases of injuries, missing journalists, arrests, and threats faced by media personnel [1].
